Getting your documents right is one of the most important — and most stressful — parts of the MBBS abroad process. A missing apostille, an expired passport, or an incorrect medical certificate can delay your application or visa by weeks. This complete checklist from Doctor’s Direction covers every document you need — for university application, apostille, and student visa — organised clearly so you can start gathering them immediately.

Apostille is a form of document authentication required by most countries for foreign education applications. For MBBS abroad, the following documents must be apostilled:
Apostille is done through the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India or authorised state departments. In Gujarat, apostille can be done through the MEA office in Ahmedabad. Processing takes 1–3 weeks normally and 3–7 days on Tatkal. Doctor’s Direction guides all students through the apostille process step by step.

Apostille is an international document certification recognised by countries that are part of the Hague Convention (which includes Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan). In Gujarat, apostille is done through the MEA Regional Authentication Centre in Ahmedabad or through authorised agencies. Doctor’s Direction guides students through this process completely — which documents, which office, which timeline, and which format.
For most countries, English translation of Gujarati documents is required, along with notarisation. Doctor’s Direction arranges translation and notarisation as part of the document support service for all Gujarat students.
Start immediately after NEET 2026 results — even before you have finalised which country or university. Passport (if not yet made) and apostille take the longest. Starting 8–10 weeks before your planned departure gives you enough buffer.
